In today’s volatile business environment, proactive behavior has recognized as an influential component of business success in sustaining competitive advantage and innovation.
Research has shown a positive linear relationship between proactive personality and job performance at the individual level. Furthermore, two studies were conducted to examine the curvilinear relationship between the average level of the proactive personality of a team and team performance. The result showed that at the team level, a proactive personality was too much of a good thing. Management must be conscious about the optimal level of proactive personality that brings the best team performance.
