BizTalks kicked off the new semester with a highly engaging session at Business School Central, marked by strong participation both in person and online. In collaboration with the DBA program, the event brought together esteemed scholars and distinguished DBA alumni to delve into how current geopolitical tensions influence financial strategies and the implications for corporate debt and currency hedging.

Prof. Vidhan GOYAL and Prof. LOU Dong led insightful presentations on two pressing topics: the impact of stock index inclusion on corporate financing, and the unintended consequences of holding US dollar assets in global bond markets during times of crisis. A highlight of the session was a collaborative panel discussion featuring distinguished DBA alumni—Dr. Paul AU, CIO of FWD Insurance (second from right); Dr. Joseph CHEUNG, CEO of Oasis Investment (left), and Dr. David SOH, Head of Research at RBC (right). The panel offered valuable practitioner insights, complementing the academic perspectives and reinforcing the program’s mission to bridge research and real-world business leadership.

The session concluded with a networking reception, where attendees continued their discussions, fostering meaningful connections across academia and industry.
