MBA & MSc Info Session and Masterclass in Shanghai – Shaping Tomorrow’s Leaders

The HKUST MBA and MSc teams recently co-hosted an Info Session and Masterclass in Shanghai, bringing together participants eager to explore how HKUST’s postgraduate programs can accelerate their personal and professional growth.

A highlight was the masterclass by Prof. David HAGMANN, who demonstrated how research-driven thinking strengthens decision-making in challenging organizational contexts. Through real-world examples—addressing recruitment bias, conflict management, and the strategic use of generative AI—he showed how evidence-based approaches lead to better outcomes.

The event concluded with two alumni sharing sessions, offering participants valuable perspectives on how these programs translate knowledge, skills, and networks into real-world impact.

The MBA alumni sharing session featured graduates from Full-Time, Part-Time Bi-Weekly, and Digital MBA cohorts, who shared practical experiences on applying MBA learning to diverse roles—from streamlining operations to driving organizational change. Their insights inspired attendees to envision their own career paths.

In the MSc alumni sharing session, graduates reflected on how the program supported their career planning and development. Their genuine sharing provided a concrete framework for the prospective students to prepare their academic choices and career prospects. These insights resonated with the remarks delivered earlier by Mr. Chris TSANG, HKUST Business School Assistant Dean (Administration) and MSc Program Director. He emphasized the importance of developing strong learning capabilities and cultivating unique perspectives to overcome future challenges. Mr. Tsang also highlighted that HKUST MSc programs, through a cutting-edge curriculum and practical training, are designed not only to enhance knowledge but also to inspire breakthroughs.
