The HKUST Global Business (GBUS) program welcomed a group of 25 students and faculty members from the Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU) Global Business Administration (GBA) Program in late January for a campus visit.

The visit was marked by a series of engaging activities, including an interactive lecture, and a campus tour followed by a delightful mixer dinner. Professor KOH Tat Koon, GBUS Program Director, led an engaging class on disruptive technology for the GBUS and GBA students. The class provided a valuable platform for them to explore innovative concepts and broaden their perspectives.

To celebrate the successful exchange, a mixer dinner was held. Faculty members, students, and staff from both universities came together to share a delightful evening of conversations, laughter, and cultural exchange.

This GBUS x GBA event highlights the value of fostering international collaborations and promoting cross-cultural understanding. This occasion proved to be a fantastic opportunity for both institutions to interact, learn from each other, and explore new horizons in academia. As the event concluded, students left with a renewed sense of inspiration, expanded networks, and a deeper appreciation for the intricacies of global business and administration.

Activities to Unleash Potential and Forging Connections

The GBUS outward-bound team-building challenge for its second-year cohort was another resounding success. The action-packed outdoor activities were designed to encourage leadership, collaboration, and mutual support among the cohort. Together, the cohort took on new physical and mental challenges by embracing HKUST's “can-do” attitude.

Multi-phase high events, intra- and inter-team exercises, and problem-solving tasks pushed our students to their limits, helping them develop essential leadership qualities and teamwork skills. By overcoming challenges together, they built positive relationships within the GBUS community. The event set the foundation for future success, emphasizing the power of collective effort in achieving goals. Our students showcased their potential for growth and adaptability.

The day wrapped up with a final high wall challenge with students experiencing the magic of teamwork and commitment. The program extends its gratitude to all participants for their enthusiasm, teamwork, and resilience - attributes that will guide them through their academic and professional journeys in the years to come.
