Ms. Lee explained it is important to understand local cultures when expanding into new markets. She shared her experience in leading the international business development of Alipay. In order to match the local culture, Venetia established the exclusive feature “stamp collection” in Alipay Hong Kong and meet the needs of Hong Kong’s foreign domestic helpers in cross-border payment. Be observant in the daily life and one may identify market opportunities, she remarked.

Mr. Hui shared the fascinating journey of HSBC’s digital reform, highlighting how digitalization transformed the banking industry and how HSBC adapted to these changes. He stressed it is essential for banks to embrace technology in order to provide customers with efficient service and go further to exceed their expectations. Brian also shared his career stories and encouraged students to be passionate and to seek out opportunities for personal and professional growth.

Organized by the Fintech and Green Finance Projects, the “FinFluencer” series provides students with valuable insights into the rapidly evolving fintech industry and an excellent opportunity to learn from distinguished speakers in person.
