Jointly offered by the HKUST Business School and The Hong Kong Institute of Bankers (HKIB), an Enhance Competency Framework on Fintech (Professional Level) Program (ECF-Fintech) has been launched. The organizing parties aim to build a strong foundation for the development of fintech talent locally and in Greater Bay Area, thus further enhancing Hong Kong’s status as a leading international financial hub.
The Professional Level of the ECF-Fintech Program consists of two tracks with seven modules. Led by our Senior Associate Dean, Professor HUI Kai-lung, an expert team of teaching faculty includes Professor Hilton CHAN, Professor Henry CHANG, Professor Theodore CLARK, Professor Allen HUANG, Professor SIU Kam Wing and Professor Jean WANG.
The “Regulatory Trends and Data Ethics” module, taught by Prof. Henry Chan, has commenced since January 2023. This module helps participants realize general Fintech regulatory trends and developments, understand regulatory requirements on personal data, and recognize and respond to implications of data ethics, integrity and risks associated with fintech applications and opportunities. A total of 18 practitioners from seven banks joined the module. In addition to 21 hours of face-to-face classes, the participants are required to complete 276-hour self-study and a three-hour final exam.
