Alumni of HKUST EMBA Class 2009 celebrated the 10th Anniversary of their graduation with a worthwhile cause, supporting the education of young people from rural areas together with Simai Philanthropy.

A cooperation agreement was signed earlier between the HKUST EMBA Class 2009 and Simai Philanthropy to provide for the establishment of a secondary vocational project "Simai Red Bird E09 Class” in Shanghai Real Estate School. Majoring in the installation and operation of intelligent equipment for buildings, this class aims to admit 20 students from needy rural families in Sichuan, Yunnan and Guizhou provinces of China. The HKUST EMBA Class 2009 donated RMB300,000 in scholarship funds to cover the living expenses for study in Shanghai. By opening doors to a good vocation-oriented education, the scholarship has helped transform the lives of the beneficiaries, paving the way to better days for them and their family.

Representatives of the HKUST EMBA Class 2009 visited the school and met with the sponsored students, who showed their deep appreciation for the alumni group’s support, as well as their commitment to fulfilling the project’s mission.
