Organized by the Executive Education Office, the four-day Leadership Development Program (LDP) is specially designed to address the needs of HKSAR Government officers and help participants develop management and leadership skills.
Due to the pandemic, the 8th cohort completed the program through a mixture of online and offline classes between November 2020 and April 2021. The cohort consisted of 42 government officers from seven bureaus and departments, and participants were pleased with the well-structured modules. The modules include “Managerial Decision Making” by Professor Bilian SULLIVAN, “Leading for Performance” by Professor Mitya NEW, “Team Communications” by Ms Paula HO, and “Creative thinking” by Professor Hilton CHAN.
What’s more, Executive Education Office also launched a new real-time online open program – Data-driven Storytelling for Executives (April 21 to 22). Led by Professor Allen HUANG, the six-hour online program was curated to help executives acquire cutting-edge insights and learn to turn data into actionable business insights.
The program attracted 30 C-level and senior executives from 17 companies. With an average of 19 years of working experience, participants came from 12 industries, including banking and finance, building and construction, management consulting, education and training, government, non-profit, information technology, legal service, manufacturing, media, medical services, retail, and telecommunications.
The sessions explored how managers can leverage data analytics to make better decisions and communicate complex data-supported ideas and interpretations. Furthermore, the program provides participants with practical and interesting skills to summarize data, design analyses, interpret results, identify biased data and results, and tell a persuasive story with data.
