Happy hour and combating food waste now go hand in hand thanks to a group of HKUST students, who founded Breer, a food upcycling start-up that brews craft beer from leftover bread! The team includes two students from the Business School, tackling Hong Kong’s food waste challenge by putting wasted bread to good use. In October 2020, Breer sold its initial batch of craft beer to various retailers and local bars. Have a lookout for Breer’s special brew at your favorite bars and shops and read more about our students’ innovative journey.
