HKUST Business School has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Heidi, a pioneering health tech company with strong roots in Australia and the UK, now expanding into Hong Kong and Singapore. This strategic partnership sets the foundation for a research initiative focused on the role of AI assistance in clinical consultation and its potential to transform healthcare delivery.

The collaboration will be led by Prof. HUI Kai-Lung, Acting Dean of HKUST Business School, Prof. WANG Jing from the Department of Information Systems, Business Statistics and Operations Management (ISOM), and PhD student Ms. CAI Yuying. The team will work with anonymized data from Heidi’s AI-powered consultation platform to explore how AI supports physician decision-making, improves consultation quality, and enhances patient outcomes.

During a recent visit to HKUST, Mr. Waleed MUSSA, Co-Founder & CFO; Dr. Albert IP, Chief Medical Officer Asia; and Mr. Harry NGUYEN, Director (APAC) of Heidi, joined faculty and researchers for a strategic exchange on joint research, talent development, and the future of AI in healthcare. Also in attendance was Dr. Charles CHAN, Director of Health Concepts Limited, whose support helped bring this partnership to life.

This collaboration underscores HKUST Business School’s commitment to interdisciplinary research and cross-sector partnerships that drive innovation and position Hong Kong as a rising hub for AI-driven healthcare.
