The year 2024 marked a significant milestone for three highly successful programs that have cultivated countless finance, accounting and international management talent since their inceptions.

BSc in Quantitative Finance 20th Anniversary

To mark the 20th anniversary of the BSc in Quantitative Finance (QFIN) Program, a remarkable finance conference and anniversary dinner was held to commemorate the past achievements of the program, explore new opportunities for nurturing financial talent, and envision the future of quantitative finance. Special thanks are due to the panel of exceptional speakers for their insights shared at the conference.

The QFIN Program will not be successful without the committed alumni and students. The program also took the opportunity to launch the QFIN Alumni Association during the celebration, with an aim to fostering collaboration and connection within the vibrant alumni community.

MSc in Accounting 10th Anniversary

2024 also marked the 10th anniversary of the MSc in Accounting (MSAC) Program. A celebration dinner was held with the participation of senior management of our School, the program’s Accounting Advisory Board members, industry partners, faculty members, and local and overseas alumni.

The event commenced with an opening speech by Mr. Chris TSANG, Assistant Dean (Administration) and MSc Program Director. Prof. HUNG Mingyi, Head of the Department of Accounting, shared her insights into the program’s future development dedicated to inspiring and empowering the next generation. Prof. Tony SHIEH, Academic Director of the MSAC Program, also gave an account of the program’s journey, recalling memories and bringing laughter to the audience.

MSc in International Management 10th Anniversary

The MSc in International Management (MIMT) Program hosted its 10th anniversary celebrative cocktail, commemorating a decade of excellence and partnership with the Global Alliance in Management Education (CEMS). The celebration brought together alumni, MIMT and CEMS students, faculty members, and visiting CEMSies from partner schools worldwide. CEMS corporate partners also joined in the celebration, displaying the program’s strong connections within the global CEMS network and the business community. The evening was filled with lively conversations, and moments of reflection.

This milestone is a testament to the continued partnership between HKUST Business School and CEMS, which has been instrumental in shaping the program’s global impact. As we

celebrate this achievement, we look forward to deepening our collaboration with CEMS and advancing our mission to develop the next generation of international business leaders.
