Mr David Grimme is a General Manager Chief Operating Officer for HSBC Asia Pacific.
Joined HSBC in 1990, David is a senior leader with in-depth knowledge of the banking industry and the operations world. He has significant experience in both building and managing large global processes for Retail and the Commercial Banking businesses.
David has enjoyed an international career at HSBC, having worked in the US, UK, Philippines, Malaysia and Hong Kong.
During 2015 to 2019, David was the Global Chief Operating Officer for Retail Banking and Wealth Management. In that time, he oversaw key Control, Run and Change the Bank functions for the Retail Bank and Insurance Companies, including the large scale transformation efforts to make the Bank more efficient and provide improved customer journeys. Prior to this role, David was the Global Head of Operations, where he and his team supported the day-to-day operations of HSBC Group. He helped build a professional and efficient Global Service Centre structure which provides HSBC’s customers and businesses with general processing and professional services in areas such as contact centres, collections, payments, trade services, investment banking services, finance operations and high value analytics, to name just a few.
In his leisure time, he enjoys golf, travel, boating and sports cars.
