Professor Albert Ha

President, Beta Gamma Sigma
HKUST Chapter

It is my great honor to be the new President of the Beta Gamma Sigma HKUST Chapter. I take much pleasure in welcoming this year’s newly inducted honorees and members, and I would like to congratulate you on earning recognition for your distinctive achievements in the study and practice of business.

As new members, you are connected to the vast and expanding Beta Gamma Sigma network which has 650,000 members worldwide. The HKUST Chapter, since its inception in 2000, has inducted more than 1,300 members. I am pleased to report that in 2010 we have been recognized as an Exemplary Chapter, thanks to the high acceptance rate of membership by our eligible candidates. This recognition entitles our Chapter to award a scholarship to our student.

It is gratifying that the Chapter has gained enormous support from members in the academic and business communities, which enables us to promote professional excellence through our network. I hope you will continue to tap into the wide connections of the Beta Gamma Sigma network and reap the lifetime of benefits that come with the membership. Last but not least, I would like to thank Professor Kalok Chan, the immediate past Chapter President, for his dedicated service in leading the Chapter in the past years.

Professor Leonard Cheng

Dean,
HKUST Business School

My warmest congratulations to the newly inducted honorees and members. As a Beta Gamma Sigma member, you are connected to "the best in business". I hope you will find the Beta Gamma Sigma network and its resources rewarding and helpful to your professional future.

The HKUST Business School has risen to international prominence within a short span of two decades, attaining consistent recognition for its world class business education programs and research achievements. We are delighted that the School continues to develop its strong link with international honor societies such as Beta Gamma Sigma — a long-standing and prestigious association that recognizes academic excellence and provides a useful platform for interaction among students, faculty and professionals. This connection is consistent with the School's active engagement with the business community and our efforts to foster exchanges with industry professionals.

As the HKUST celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2011, we expect the upcoming Chapter activities will be integrated into a series of celebratory events. I look forward to members' active participation in these events so we can further strengthen our ties and enjoy mutual benefits from our interactions.
