Paul Chow

Paul Chow was appointed chief executive of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) on 1 May 2003. In this capacity, Mr. Chow is also an ex-officio member of the board of HKEx.

Before he joined HKEx, Mr. Chow was the chief executive, Asia Pacific ex-Japan Region, of HSBC Asset Management (Hong Kong) Limited for 6 years from April 1997 to April 2003. From November 1991 to January 1997, Mr. Chow was the chief executive of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited and before then, he was the chief executive of Hong Kong Securities Clearing Company Limited for 2 years.

Mr. Chow holds various Government committee and community appointments, including being a member of the Information Infrastructure Advisory Committee of the Government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, a member of the Advisory Committee of the Securities and Futures Commission, a member of the Standing Committee on Company Law Reform, and a director of the Board of Cyberport Management Limited.

Mr. Chow holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, a Diploma in Management Studies and an MBA degree from the University of Hong Kong, and a Diploma in Finance (Distinction) from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Mr. Chow is a Fellow of the Hong Kong Computer Society and the Hong Kong Management Association.

Dr Rosanna Wong
DBE, JP

Dr Rosanna Wong, DBE, JP, is the Executive Director of The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups, one of the largest non-profit youth work agencies in Hong Kong. She is also Chairman of the Education Commission of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Member of the High Level Panel of the United Nations on Youth Employment and the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).

Dr Wong serves as Non-Executive Director of the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited and the Cheung Kong (Holdings) Limited. She was a former Member of both the Executive and Legislative Councils, as well as the former Chairperson of the Hong Kong Housing Authority, the Commission on Youth, the Social Welfare Advisory Committee, among others.

Dr. Wong has been one of the recipients of the Ten Outstanding Young Persons Award in Hong Kong and being honored as Global Leader for Tomorrow by the World Economic Forum.

Dr. Wong holds a B.Soc.Sc. from the University of Hong Kong; an M.S.W. from the University of Toronto; an M.Sc. from the London School of Economics and Politics, University of London; and an M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of California, Davis. She was awarded Honorary Doctorates from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1996, from the University of Toronto in 1999, from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2002 and from the University of Hong Kong in 2003. She was honored with the award of Dame Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (DBE) in 1997.
