We are delighted to welcome Prof. Frederik Anseel, who assumed office as Dean of HKUST Business School on February 1, 2026.

Prof. Anseel’s appointment is made following a global search. Before joining HKUST, he served as Dean of the University of New South Wales Business School in Australia. He brings extensive leadership experience across major global business schools, including serving as Vice Dean at King’s College London, Head of Department and Talent Management Advisor to the Rector at Ghent University in Belgium, and holding Visiting Professor positions at ESSEC Business School in France and Bocconi University in Italy. An acclaimed scholar in leadership, learning, and feedback in organizations, he is recognized among the top 2% of scientists globally by Stanford University.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Prof. HUI Kai-Lung Hui for his dedicated service as Acting Dean since July 2024. Prof. Hui transitioned to a new role as Associate Provost (Academic Development) at the University on the same day that Prof. Anseel took office as the sixth Dean of HKUST Business School.
