In celebration of the University’s 35th anniversary, HKUST Business School hosted a full-day event that brought together alumni and industry leaders for a dynamic exchange of insights under the transforming business landscape.

Inaugural BizInsight Global Forum

The day kicked off with the first-ever BizInsight Global Forum in which distinguished speakers shared forward-looking insights into the challenges faced by business and industry. During the plenary talk, Dr. William FUNG, Group Deputy Chairman of Fung Group and Prof. Albert PARK, Chief Economist and Director General of Economic Research and Development Impact Department from the Asian Development Bank, had a stimulating discussion on Asia’s evolving role in global trade.

A dialogue session featured prominent figures including Mr. Charles LI, Founder and Chairman of Micro Connect; Ms. Nisa LEUNG, Managing Partner of Aulis Capital; and Mr. Arthur YUEN, Deputy Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority. Moderated by Prof. K.C. CHAN, Senior Advisor to the Dean of HKUST Business School and Adjunct Professor of Finance, the interactive session addressed the issues of sustainable investment amid global uncertainty.

Another panel explored how business leaders navigate transformation, with valuable insights from our alumni speakers Mr. Adriel CHAN, Chair of Hang Lung Properties Limited; Ms. Jeanette MAO, Chief Executive Officer of HK Express Airways; and Mr. Oscar TAO, Co-founder and Chief Marketing Officer of Lulusmiles Medical Technology Limited and DBT Technology Limited. The panel was moderated by Prof. KOH Tat Koon, Associate Dean (Undergraduate Programs) of HKUST Business School.

Celebrating 35 Years of Achievements in Unity

The evening transitioned into a heartfelt Alumni Reunion Dinner, with the enthusiastic participation of nearly 350 alumni from across generations and programs.

HKUST leaders including Prof. Harry Shum (HKUST Council Chairman), Ms. Edith SHIH (HKUST Council Vice-Chairperson), Prof. Nancy Ip (HKUST President), Prof. TAM Kar-Yan (HKUST Vice-President for Administration and Business), Prof. Albert IP (HKUST Foundation Chairman), Ms. Wendy Gan (HKUST Business School Advisory Council member), and members of the University and Business School community led the University anthem sing-along.

The evening was a showcase of our shared pride and close-knit alumni community. The School expressed deep appreciation for the generous support from alumni Mr. Adrian SIU, Managing Director of Greater China of Adidas (right in the bottom right image), and Ms. Phyllis NG, Senior Commercial Director of Adidas Hong Kong, who sponsored 350 limited-edition jackets — a thoughtful gift to mark the 35th anniversary. In addition, alumnus Mr. Larry LAM, Co-founder of Gump and KaChick (left in the bottom right image) sponsored an AI-powered photo album for participants to relive the memorable moments shared together.

A cheerleading performance by the Sports Development Team from the Dean of Students’ Office added a burst of energy to the night!
