The NOVA: National AI Creativity Competition, jointly organized by the HKUST Center for Technology and Business Ecosystem (CTBE), HKUST Shanghai Alumni Chapter, and Tencent Research Institute, concluded its mainland final pitch fest in September.

Dr. WANG Wepon, Chief Expert at the Tencent Research Institute (pictured on the right), hopes the ideas in this competition would evolve into products and services that benefit more people.
Team SIGNOVA took the top prize with its barrier-free interactive system for people with hearing impairments. The second prize was shared by Carbon Reduction Group for “Carbon Wisdom: A Grand Model for Reshaping Carbon Consulting” and Vision Guide for its multimodal travel assistant for people with visual impairments.

The remaining seven finalist teams received third prizes. The competition showcased a new generation of ideas that put AI to work for real-world impact.
