The HKUST Business School community gathered at HKUST Business School Central in the Hong Kong Club Building to mark an important milestone in its journey – transitioning to a new home.
Reflecting on its early days, those who played a key role in its establishment including Mr. Chris TSANG, recalled how the location was carefully chosen to serve as a hub connecting academia and industry. Strategically situated in the heart of Central, it represented a significant step in strengthening the School’s presence within Hong Kong’s business district. Prof. KC CHAN and Prof. Steven DEKREY further noted that this Central premises served both as a brand-building initiative and a deliberate effort to position the School closer to the pulse of the city—one that has successfully set HKUST apart.

The gathering brought together members of the community who have been part of this journey from the beginning, alongside those shaping its future. In his remarks, Dean Frederik ANSEEL thanked all contributors for their efforts and looked ahead to building an even stronger and more impactful presence in the next phase of development. Mr. Terry TSANG, HKUST Council Member and HKUST alumnus, expressed appreciation for the role the space has played in supporting generations of students, alumni, and partners.

For over two decades, HKUST Business School Central has supported classes, events, and exchanges, serving as a key platform for engagement with the community. As it enters its next phase, the School will move into a new, expanded facility designed to provide enhanced space and greater opportunities for learning, collaboration, and engagement.
