The Executive Education Office hosted two flagship programs recently to equip senior executives with practical insights and strategies for growth.

First collaboration with Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business Family Business Program

The Office co-hosted the “CKGSB Women Leadership Program: Family Business Module” with the Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business (CKGSB) in November on Clear Water Bay Campus. The two-day intensive program convened a select group of over 30 senior female executives and owners from leading family enterprises across various cities in China.

To address the unique complexities at the intersection of family dynamics and leadership, the program was delivered by two distinguished faculty members – Prof. Roger KING and Prof. Winnie PENG.

The first day explored the crucial “Three Preservations” for family continuity, followed by an analysis of single-family offices’ functions and the integration of professional managers with deep-dive case studies on Sasa and Wahaha. The second day advanced into strategic implementation, covering formal family governance structures, succession planning frameworks, the nuanced role of art collections in legacy building, and concluded with sophisticated asset allocation strategies for single-family offices. This program equipped women leaders with essential knowledge and insights to steward their family’s heritage towards a prosperous future.

“Lead from the East: A New Lens on Global Leadership” Program for YPO North Asia

Also in November, the Office hosted the YPO North Asia Chapter for a three-day global leadership program. YPO is a global community of over 38,000 chief executives, with members required to have a minimum enterprise value of US$25 million, along with other qualifying criteria. Over 30 YPO members from various North Asian countries and industries gathered on HKUST Campus to enhance their leadership skills.

The program was co-created with YPO to address key topics such as macroeconomics, sustainability, AI, family business, and team leadership. Esteemed faculty members including Prof. HUI Kai-Lung, Prof. JIA Jiaya, Prof. Roger KING, Prof. Christine LOH, Prof. Milind RAO, and Prof. Caroline WANG contributed to the program, alongside guest speakers Dr. William FUNG of The Fung Group and Dr. Vincent LO of Shui On Group. The event concluded with an interactive “Innovation & Entrepreneurship” workshop led by Prof. David SCHONTHAL from the Kellogg-HKUST EMBA program. Participants highly praised the program, and we look forward to welcoming the next cohort in the near future.
