The new season of BizTalk has begun, with its first session successfully held in dual mode featuring Assistant Professor LEE Dongwon and Associate Professor WANG Jing from the Department of Information Systems, Business Statistics and Operations Management. They presented their inspiring works on how to solicit crowd contributions, followed by keen interactions with the audience in the Q&A session.

Prof. Lee and his co-authors studied how mobile-based economic incentives and environments influence charitable giving behavior. The researchers showed that the effectiveness of incentives is contingent on the magnitude of the incentive as well as the extent to which individual decisions are visible to others.
