On September 21, Prof Roger KING, Senior Advisor and Founding Director of Asian Family Business and Entrepreneurship Studies, spoke at the Evolving Roles of Family Office Webinar Series. Hosted by the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce (HKGCC), 70 chamber members in managerial and senior executive levels attended the webinar. Prof King talked about the important role that educational programs offered at the Clear Water Bay and Guangzhou campuses play in nurturing the next generation of family business leaders. He also stressed family offices of ultra-high net worth families have brought together a wide range of global professionals from various background to Asia. Their functions were no longer restricted to traditional financial services.
On September 16, Prof TAM Kar Yan, Dean of HKUST Business School, spoke in another webinar held by the Hong Kong Economic Journal for secondary school teachers. Prof Tam talked about the explosive developments of fintech in Hong Kong, including the need to nurture more talent. He also shared the major findings from the “Fintech Talent Development, Competency, and Manpower Study”, including the core skills required to succeed in the up-and-coming fintech industry and how these skills relate to DSE subjects.
