Appointments to Commission on Poverty
The Government announced on June 30, three new appointments to the Commission on Poverty including Professor LEUNG Siu Fai, Department of Economics, at the HKUST Business School. Professor Leung together with other 19 non-official appointed members will keep track of the poverty situation, review existing policies, and among others, explore new measures to achieve the objective of preventing and alleviating poverty in Hong Kong.

WEN Circle Event: Survive & Thrive
Organized by The Women Entrepreneurs Network, the WEN Circle Event series inspires, connects, and provides practical business solutions for established women entrepreneurs to succeed. On June 6, the network held an online Circle Event entitled Survive & Thrive to help women entrepreneurs navigate through the global economic decline and boost business performance.

We were delighted to have Professor Sam GARG, Department of Management, to join as a panelist and circle mentor for The Women’s Entrepreneurs Network. Professor Garg teaches entrepreneurship and strategy at HKUST Business School and is a global leader in research global board dynamics privately held ventures. The panel sparked an insightful discussion on how participants’ business plans could be adjusted for greater performance and success.
