The Beta Gamma Sigma society provides an exceptional platform not only to recognize outstanding achievements, but also to promote the value of excellence.
It is an honor to be the new President of the Beta Gamma Sigma HKUST Chapter. I take much pleasure in welcoming and congratulating all 102 new members this year. As a member of Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS), you are part of a network of outstanding students and respected leaders who embody the values of the BGS society: honor and integrity (Beta), pursuit of wisdom (Gamma), and earnestness (Sigma).
BGS serves as an international honor society for outstanding students to connect with their peers and global leaders. The BGS HKUST Chapter would not be successful without the enormous support of our esteemed honorees over the past two decades.
We are honored to have Mr. David LEE, Director of Lee Kum Kee Group (LKK), as our Chapter Honoree this year. For over thirty years, Mr. Lee has been a visionary leader in steering LKK’s dynamic expansion into new product categories, which underpins the company’s long-term success. Beyond his strategic leadership, Mr. Lee has also passionately advocated for sound family values across the corporate sphere and the broader community.
In addition, he has been a member of our School Advisory Council since 2017, providing valuable guidance to our developments. With his generous donation, Mahnaz & David Lee Professorship in Family Business and Entrepreneurship is established to attract, foster and retain the very best minds. His achievements exemplify the values and ideals that BGS holds dear.
I encourage you to draw inspiration from Mr. Lee’s remarkable accomplishments. As you embark on your journey as BGS members, you will find your association with the BGS network and its resources rewarding for your future endeavors.
Finally, I would also like to thank Professor TAM Kar Yan, the immediate past Chapter President, for his dedicated service in leading the Chapter in the past eight years.
