In an interview featured in Economic Digest, Acting Dean Prof. HUI Kai-Lung commented on Ether's recent strong rebound and its previously higher growth relative to Bitcoin, attributing the price surge in part to the stablecoin regulations recently enacted by countries worldwide. Separately, in an HK Economic Journal report on the possible candidates for stablecoin licenses, Prof. Hui pointed to the challenges of predicting the first entities to be issued stablecoin licenses in HK, while noting that the HKMA will carefully balance multiple factors before approving such licenses.

In a report published in Sfccn, 21jingji, eastmoney, infzm, sina, sina 2, sina 3, and share.stockstar, Head of HKUST Institute for Financial Research (IFR) Prof. TANG Bo pointed to the two types of digital asset treasury (DAT) companies on the market - those hoarding currencies and those incorporating cryptocurrencies into their business models. In an SCMP article, Prof. Tang was quoted as saying that investing in publicly listed digital asset treasury companies provided an answer to companies seeking exposure to digital assets, but restricted from directly buying cryptocurrency.
IFR and Matrixport released a joint research report about tokenized gold. Co-authored by Prof. Tang, the report examines efficiency challenges of the new financial paradigm, highlighting how gold tokenization can underpin emerging financial architecture.
