HKUST and Li & Fung Initiate Supply Chain Institute Launch
Various media reported the establishment of the HKUST Li & Fung Supply Chain Institute to advance research and practices in global supply chain management innovation. HKUST President Prof. Nancy IP said that the Institute will be well placed to drive real-world impact, from addressing the growing demands of manufacturing enterprises in Asia and beyond for resilient multinational supply chains to strengthening HK's status as a multinational supply chain management center.
In addition, an SCMP report quoted a source stating that Fung Group Chairman Victor FUNG offered suggestions to Chinese President XI Jinping on how HK could become a multinational supply chain center for mainland Chinese companies, based on a key research focus of this new institute.
In an RTHK radio interview, Prof. Hau LEE, Chair of the Institute’s academic committee, shared details of the new institute and introduced the logistical concept of "bullwhip effects", as well as trends and challenges in global supply chain management.

Students Ace Business-Case Contest
Various media reported that a team from the School won the 2024 HSBC/HKU Asia Pacific Business Case Competition, the world's largest business case competition for undergraduate students.
