The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology's School of Business and Management (HKUST Business School) placed No. 29 in a worldwide ranking of business school research conducted by the University of Texas at Dallas.

The School was the only Asian Pacific school that hit the top-50 list, ahead of many renowned schools including UC Berkeley (31), Cornell (34), and Yale (42).

Dean K.C. Chan of HKUST Business School said, "We are pleased that HKUST was consistently ranked among the world's best by this survey. The world class research activities by our professors will continue to enhance our program content and enrich students' learning experience."

The University of Texas at Dallas research studied the research contributions of business schools based on their publications in leading business journals in the period between 2002-2006. A total of 100 schools were ranked, only 3 schools outside of the North America, namely Insead (France), London Business School and HKUST were in the chart's top 50 this year.
