Undergraduate Team Earns Top Place at Inter-University Case Competition
Congratulations to our undergraduate team for claiming the top prize at an inter-university case competition. Organized by the PolyU Business School, this competition is designed to bridge academic theory with real-world application, bringing together outstanding undergraduate business student teams from leading local universities.
The HKUST winning team comprises four Global Business (GBUS) students, starting third from left: Alison CHEUNG, Anna TSE, Rex LI, and Ryan LEE.
The competition provided a valuable platform for students at local universities to step beyond their usual academic scope, tackle real-world challenges, and showcase their analytical and presentation skills. We are incredibly proud of the achievement and the dedication our students demonstrated throughout the competition.
Faculty Recognized for Excellence
Faculty members from the Department of Information Systems, Business Statistics & Operations Management (ISOM) have received notable local and international honors. Prof. YU Man has been awarded the title of Best Senior Editor by Production and Operations Management. This prestigious recognition highlights Prof. YU’s exceptional contributions and strong commitment to editorial excellence. The award was presented at the POMS Annual Conference during the President’s Banquet Dinner and Awards Ceremony. This accolade not only reflects her hard work and professionalism, but also the high standards of editorial leadership nurtured within our school community.
Prof. CHEN Yanzhen, Prof. LEE Dongwon and Prof. SHIN Dongwook have been awarded the Overseas Research Fellowship Scheme (ORFS) 2026/27, in recognition of their outstanding research achievements and international academic standing. The ORFS, administered by the Research Grants Council of Hong Kong, supports distinguished scholars in undertaking research visits at leading institutions overseas, fostering international collaboration and advancing research excellence.
