Wealth Management Program Brings Asian-Pacific Bank Executives to HKUST
HKUST Business School hosted executives from Asian-Pacific Bank (APB) for an intensive two-day Wealth Management program, in collaboration with Nazarbayev University Graduate School of Business (NUGSB).

This program carries special significance as it represents a concrete deliverable under the Memorandum of Understanding signed between HKUST and NUGSB on academic and professional collaboration in support of Belt and Road Initiative. By equipping banking professionals from the region with advanced wealth management expertise, the program exemplifies how the partnership is translating strategic commitments into meaningful, real-world impact.
Led by Prof. Lynn PI, participants explored core topics including wealth management principles, personal and risk profiling, portfolio construction, asset allocation, and both traditional and alternative asset classes. A guest session by Mr. Derrick TAN, the Group Chairman of WRISE Group, brought valuable industry perspectives to the classroom.
A highlight of Day 2 was an offsite visit to the Bank of East Asia headquarters, offering participants first-hand exposure to Hong Kong's financial hub. HKUST looks forward to deepening its collaboration with NUGSB and delivering further impactful initiatives under the Belt and Road framework.
Dean of HKUST Business School Prof. Frederik ANSEEL congratulates the group for completing the module and represents certificates at the closing ceremony.
Strengthening Digital and AI Capabilities: New programs with Mastercard and LINK
The Executive Education Office partnered with Mastercard and LINK Asset Management to deliver two impactful executive programs, reinforcing our focus on advancing digital and AI leadership in the business world.
The “Digital Safari – Hong Kong”, delivered in collaboration with Mastercard, brought together banking and Mastercard executives from the Commonwealth of Independent States for a three-day immersive learning experience. The program explored key themes including AI in banking, digital assets, macro trends, and leading in uncertainty. Through a blend of academic insights, interactive sessions, and company visits, participants gained practical perspectives on emerging technologies and AI-first business models. Feedback highlighted the relevance of the content, particularly in strengthening mindsets and capabilities to navigate a rapidly evolving landscape.

Alongside this, the “AI for Executives” program was delivered for LINK Asset Management. Prof. Hilton CHAN guided over 40 senior executives and Board of Directors on harnessing AI for strategic advantage. The three hybrid sessions translated complex AI capabilities into practical business applications, using powerful examples from FinTech and tokenomics to highlight opportunities in asset management. The program also navigated AI governance, ensuring LINK’s leadership is equipped to drive innovation and manage risks, reinforcing their position at the forefront of the industry.
