As the new year commenced, we were eager to reconnect with members of our global community and hear from those living and working near and far. In January, two get-togethers brought our alumni, students, and School representatives closer in meaningful ways.
Paris Reunion
The gathering in Paris featured an evening of delicious food and lively conversations among fellow HKUSTers, including long-time residents and newcomers to the city. Prof. Véronique LAFON-VINAIS served as the School’s delegate, helping to strengthen the local community.

One participant shared her appreciation for the opportunity to reconnect with peers whom she first met in Paris 15 years ago. Attendees left the gathering genuinely pleased, valuing the chance to renew old connections and build new ones.
Singapore Connection
The gathering in Singapore took place as part of a five‑day career exploration trip for our undergraduate business students. During the visit, students had the opportunity to meet and learn from alumni based in the city, gaining valuable insights into working and living in Singapore’s dynamic professional landscape.
Participants were thrilled to meet with fellow alumni and current students, and engage with the School’s delegation—Prof. KOH Tat Koon, Associate Dean of UG Programs, and Prof. Melody CHAO, Associate Director of UG Programs. They enjoyed a relaxed evening of meaningful conversations and inspiration for the next generation of HKUSTers.

Special thanks to our local city anchors Christian CHAN in Paris, Johnson KOH and Laurent YE in Singapore, for supporting the events!
