Starting the new academic year with great energy, the UG Student Development & Career Team of the HKUST Business School earlier hosted its inaugural Undergraduate Career Fair & Career Inspirational Panel Discussion, welcoming over 300 undergraduates for a full day of career discovery and industry engagement.

Students proactively interacted with recruiters and alumni, gaining practical insights into industry expectations and workplace culture. Peer sharing from current students who interned with the participating companies added a relatable perspective to the experience. The event also featured a panel discussion with distinguished leaders from the banking and investment sectors, who shared their personal career journeys and thoughtful advice on navigating the evolving, AI-driven business landscape.

The panel discussion features distinguished speakers (from fourth from left): Mr. Wallace LAM, Chief Executive of Shanghai Commercial Bank; Ms. Aveline SAN, Citi HK & Macau CEO and Head of Banking; and Mr. Antony HUNG, Regional Head for Asia Pacific of Santander Group, with Prof. HUI Kai-Lung, Acting Dean of HKUST Business School, as the moderator. HKUST Business School Career Development Advisory Council Chairman Prof. Albert IP and Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs Prof. Tat Koon KOH also participate in the event.

Feedback from the post-event survey indicated that students gained valuable insights into various employers and their cultures, while discovering a wider range of internship and job opportunities.
