This summer, MSc students embarked on a series of career-focused learning journey, empowering them with practical skills, professional insights, and industry connections.

MSc Career Orientation

This year’s MSc Career Orientation was successfully held by School’s MSc Career Development Office welcoming over 1,200 students from 11 diverse MSc programs.

Mr. Raymond XIAO, Head of MSc Career Development Office, opened the session by introducing the School’s comprehensive career support and career development services. Following his overview, two workshops, namely “Crafting a Professional Resume” and “Exploring the Art of Interview”, were conducted to impart essential job-search skills. These workshops guided students to articulate their value, approach recruitment strategically, be fully prepared for their career journey, and transition smoothly into the workplace.

Connecting with Banking Experts

The MSc Program Office also hosted an event, titled “Smart Success - Slam the Scam and Master Your Career Plan”, featuring experts from China CITIC Bank International Limited (CNCBI) senior executives who discussed career pathways, leadership skills, and the future of banking industry and cybersecurity in Hong Kong.

Ms. Wendy YUEN, Head of Personal & Business Banking Group and a proud Kellogg-HKUST EMBA alumna, delivered an inspiring session on career strategies and leadership development. She emphasized the importance of cultivating a growth mindset, the adaptability to challenges, and staying resilient in an ever-changing financial landscape.

Other speakers from CNCBI shared the anti-scam case studies and practical advice for excelling in the fast-evolving banking industry. Key highlights included insights into modern fraud prevention strategies and a demonstration of CNCBI’s inMotion Mobile App, with its advanced security features designed to protect users.
