The beginning of a new academic year is always marked by the arrival of a dynamic and energetic new cohort of undergraduates. To welcome them to this exciting new chapter, the School organized a two-day program designed to connect students with peers and the Business School community.

The Peer Mentoring Program in late August gave the new students the opportunity to meet their mentors for the first time. Over 150 mentors guided 60 groups of new students through engaging discussions about the diverse academic and co-curricular opportunities.

The excitement continued with an unforgettable welcome and orientation event, which brought together more than 1,000 enthusiastic freshmen from 36 countries and regions. Adding to the festive spirit, the HKUST Students’ Union (HKUSTSU) Band Society and Dance Society delivered fantastic performances that had the audience cheering. Student representatives from the Business Cohort Community and the Peer Mentoring Program Committee also introduced a wide range of resources and support available to our new students.

Acting Dean Prof. HUI Kai-Lung and Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs Prof. KOH Tat Koon inspired freshmen with welcome speeches, setting the tone for an exciting new chapter at HKUST Business School.
