The Executive Education Office hosted an immersive tailored program combining expert-led lectures and company visits, and launched two open programs to strengthen agile leadership and critical thinking skills among executives.

Executive Program for Midea Building Technologies

The Office hosted a group of 200 middle and senior executives from Midea Building Technologies and the owners of their top 100 dealers in China. Featuring two concurrent classes at our Clear Water Bay campus, the program provided participants with valuable insights into the latest management trends, fostered innovative thinking, and enabled the real-world application of their learning.

Each class included a full-day lecture followed by a half-day company visit on the following day. Prof. Roger CHEN and Mr. YANG Xiaodong delivered insightful sessions on “Strategy Execution and AI Applications” and “Business Management,” respectively. Participants also visited local government departments and organizations and learnt from senior executives and industry experts.

Open Programs Advancing Executive Skills

The Office also launched two open programs in June which allowed participants to advance their executive skills and gain insights from peers and faculty.

Led by Prof. Chris CHAN, the “Agile Leadership of Team, Organization & Talent” program aims to develop T-shaped leadership by enhancing sensemaking and self-awareness. The program also covered the techniques to improve mentoring and influencing skills, while avoiding leadership blind spots.

Prof. Chris Chan underscores the need to foster organizational and leadership resilience during business transformation.

Led by Prof. Jeevan JAISINGH, the “Critical Thinking for Managers” program introduces the two-system model of decision making. Managers often rely on decision-making shortcuts or heuristics, but these can lead to cognitive biases. These biases can distort judgment and impair decision quality. The program thus provides participants with effective strategies, including promoting awareness of biases, encouraging critical thinking, seeking diverse perspectives, and implementing structured decision-making processes.

Prof. Jeevan Jaisingh provides participants with the strategies to perform thorough analysis and reduce reliance on heuristics.
