In response to the growing global awareness of cybersecurity, HKUST Business School recently organized a two-day workshop themed “Cybersecurity at the Crossroads: AI, Trust, and Threats” with an aim to foster dialogues and explore collaboration in this area. The event brought together 18 global experts and local practitioners, and they were joined by 30 HKUST faculty members and PhD students.

Day 1 of the workshop featured an “academic session”, where speakers from overseas institutions, including the University of Pittsburg, University of Wisconsin-Madison, American University at Washington DC, Singapore Management University, and Yonsei University, joined local experts from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and our School of Engineering to share their latest research and solutions in cybersecurity.
Day 2 featured an “industrial session”, where representatives from governing bodies in Hong Kong, including the Digital Policy Office, Hong Kong Police Force, and Hong Kong Monetary Authority, as well as the global bank HSBC and private companies eWalker and Syber Couture, shared the ongoing development and practices in the area of cybersecurity.
