Case competitions are valuable learning opportunities for business students, offering a dynamic platform to apply classroom knowledge to real-world challenges. With this in mind, our students actively seize opportunities to participate in these competitions, gaining exposure to industries and often bringing home accolades.
HKGCC Business Case Competition
Open to all tertiary students and recent graduates, the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce (HKGCC) Business Case Competition aims at fostering exchange of ideas between participants and businesses. Themed “Shaping the Future of Businesses with Creativity and Innovation”, this year’s competition was sponsored by five prominent organizations: Chinachem Group, Jardine Matheson, MTR Corporation Ltd, SOCAM Development Ltd, and Swire. Each organization provided a specific business case for participants to tackle, covering topics of tourism, sustainability, community support, and workplace environments.

This highly competitive event attracted some 160 teams comprising nearly 700 students. Our teams excelled in this competition, winning the champion and first runner-up awards in the Chinachem Group Case, as well as first runner-up title in the MTR Case. In addition to a cash prize of HK$30,000, the champion team also receives an opportunity for an internship with one of the sponsoring companies.
