Every year, HKUST Business School highlights inspiring members of its community to mark International Women’s Day (IWD). As a strong advocate for equal opportunities and gender equality, we showcase the achievements of three remarkable women who exemplify how passion and determination transcend gender barriers.

A dynamic leader with expertise in investment, property redevelopment, and textile manufacturing, Ronna CHAO also serves as a member of HKUST Business School Advisory Council and CEO of Bai Xian Asia Institute, a not-for-profit organization. She is a passionate advocate for empowering talented women students to study abroad, firmly believing that everyone, regardless of gender, possesses unique abilities. Ronna is dedicated to helping young individuals unlock their full potential and achieve their aspirations.

As a venture builder and seasoned investor, Vivian CHAN serves as Managing Director of LHT Capital and is currently pursuing her DBA at HKUST. Driven by a passion for solving complex challenges, she joined the program to sharpen her critical thinking and adopt a research-oriented approach to business. Vivian encourages executives and entrepreneurs to invest in their future and create meaningful impact in their fields.

An ultra-trail-runner and HKUST alumna, Kimmy LEUNG embodies resilience and determination. Despite setbacks, she conquered one of the world’s toughest ultra challenges and represented Hong Kong at the Ulsan Asia Pacific Championship. Her message is simple: never give up, stay positive, and dream big.
These women’s stories of success and perseverance serve as a powerful reminder to embrace challenges, pursue passions, and strive for equality. Let their journeys inspire you to embark on your own path to success—one that you can share with us next year!
