December is a festive season and an opportune time to unite alumni in the spirit of celebration and connection.

Bilingual EMBA Alumni Association Annual Grand Event in Nanjing

The annual event of the HKUST Bilingual EMBA Alumni Association held in Nanjing was a resounding success, with the participation of over 350 alumni from overseas and different Mainland cities.

A highlight of the event was the forum which was graced by Prof. WANG Yang, Vice-President for Institutional Advancement; Prof. Tim CHENG Kwang Ting, Vice-President for Research and Development; Prof. XIONG Hui, Associate Vice-President (Knowledge Transfer) of HKUST (Guangzhou), and distinguished alumni representatives, who engaged in invaluable thematic discussions. Prof. HUI Kai‐Lung, Acting Dean of the Business School, and Prof. FONG Yuk Fai, Associate Dean and Academic Director of the Bilingual EMBA Program, also gave insightful speeches.

Following the forum was a delightful banquet. Alumni from various regional chapters and classes showcased their artistic performances. Special thanks are due to the alumni who generously sponsored prizes for the lucky draws.

The dubbed drama adaptation “Let the Bullets Fly-HKUST Wins” (bottom left) by the Nanjing and Suzhou Alumni Chapters was named the evening's best performance.

On the day following the forum, a group of energetic alumni participated in a fun run.

GBUS Alumni Christmas Party Brings Back Cherished Memories

Also in December, the alumni of the BBA in Global Business (GBUS) program gathered for a Christmas celebration, reconnecting with old friends and fellow graduates. Prof. HUI Kai-Lung, Acting Dean of the Business School, reminisced about his early ties with GBUS, dating back a decade ago with a study trip to Shanghai. Former Program Director, Prof. Emily NASON, also shared her decade-long journey with GBUS, reflecting on the many lives she touched through her interactions with students and alumni.

Alumni Reunions in Taipei and Vancouver

Thanks to the support of the alumni in Taipei and Vancouver, we brought together fellow alumni in these two cities to celebrate in this festive season. A big shout out to our alumni hosts Rachel HUANG and Lamson HO in Taipei, as well as our local alum city anchor James AU YEUNG in Vancouver, for their great assistance.

In Taipei, the group enjoys a heartwarming Thanksgiving celebration, an evening to recall fond memories at HKUST and build alumni network.

The reunion in Vancouver celebrates the festive season with engaging conversations over a fun-filled dinner.
