Congratulations to PhD candidate YANG Liang, co-supervised by Prof. XU Yan of Information Systems, Business Statistics and Operations Management and Prof. HUI Pan of HKUST (GZ), who won First Prize Student Paper Award at the 24th International Telecommunications Society Biennial Conference.
Yang’s award-winning research is titled "Metaverse Identity: Core Principles and Critical Challenge". This study addresses the critical identity challenges emerging as AI and Metaverse technologies increasingly merge our digital and physical worlds. His work offers important insights by proposing key principles and identifying major hurdles. This prestigious award testified to not only the team’s research innovation, but also HKUST’s leading-edge research in digital transformation.
