ACM SIGMIS Doctoral Dissertation Award
PhD student ZHOU Jiali from the Department of Information Systems, Business Statistics & Operations Management (ISOM) has received the ACM SIGMIS Doctoral Dissertation Award for Economic Analysis of Bug Bounty Program.
Presented by the premier international professional association for IS scholars - the Association of Information Systems (AIS), this honor is awarded to only one dissertation worldwide annually. Zhou thanks for the support given by the School and his supervisor Prof. HUI Kai-Lung, Acting Dean of the School.
Zhou’s award-winning thesis examines the economics of bug bounty programs and hacker marketplaces. It provides valuable insights into cybersecurity and crowdsourcing research and practices, shedding new light on the economic features of hacker marketplaces.
Research Grant from the Negotiation and Team Resources Institute
Another PhD student Sherry DONG Xiawei from the Department of Management has received a research grant from the Negotiation and Team Resources (NTR) Institute.
NTR’s research grants support studies of negotiation and conflict management broadly construed. Sherry’s research proposal is entitled Leveraging Generative AI and iDecisionGames: Understanding the Effects of Success, Failure, and Ambiguous Feedback on Learning. Her research proposes three studies aimed to support the publication of three different working papers in top-tier journals, focusing on understanding how individuals learn from success, failure, and ambiguous performance evaluation feedback.
