The MSGF Program collaborated with the CAIA Association and the CFA Society Shanghai to host a finance seminar in Shanghai in late June. The seminar illustrated the intriguing behaviors of irrational investors and their implications for investment decision-making.
In this seminar, Prof. Utpal BHATTACHARYA, Chair Professor of Finance at HKUST and a highly respected expert in the field of behavioral finance, shared several examples from his research, including studies on haunted houses in Hong Kong and left-digit fixated traders in the US.
In July, the MSGF Program and the CFA Society Taiwan collaborated to host a finance seminar in Taipei. The seminar explored the topic of business valuation, with a particular focus on the rapidly evolving social media industry.
Prof. Kasper Meisner NIELSEN took the high-profile Twitter acquisition case as an example to illustrate the application of various valuation tools and techniques. He also shared invaluable insights into the practical challenges that arise during the valuation process.
