Aiming at nurturing the next generation of talent with interdisciplinary knowledge and mindset, the Fintech and Green Finance Research Projects hosted two sharing sessions in November to facilitate knowledge exchange between industry and academia.

In this webinar, Mr. Wilson Kwok, highlighted the importance of providing professional training programs for fintech practitioners in his opening remarks. Ms. Christy Yeung echoed and remarked that the value of knowledge exchange between industry and academia to nurture the next generation of fintech professionals should be emphasized. The three awardees of the IFTA Fintech & Innovation Awards 2021/2022 then shared their entrepreneurial journeys and the most recent fintech applications in different industries.

In the sharing session co-organized with IESGB, Mr. Paul Pong highlighted ESG talent was critical to advancing sustainable development strategies, while Prof. Veronique Lafon-Vinais, shared insights on the way forward in ESG developments. The other ESG practitioners – Dr. Calvin Lee Kwan, Ms. Yutie Cheng and Ms. Melanie Kwok, joined a panel discussion about the ESG future employment prospects.

During the live discussions and Q&A with the audience, the speakers also provided practical insights into real-life ESG use cases and the diversity of the ESG job market, helping students and those interested in working in the ESG sector get a better understanding of the industry.
