Since 2008, the School has established partnerships with corporate and non-profit organizations to offer undergraduate students an authentic and practical learning experience. The partnerships also allow students to apply their learnings in hands-on projects and develop vital skills to succeed in the workforce.

During the Fall and Winter Terms of 2021-22, six student teams from different years and programs have been selected under a credit-bearing course titled “SBMT3200P Corporate Project” to work as student consultants with leading multinational corporations to solve real-world business problems, including GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), Procter & Gamble (P&G), Mead Johnson Nutrition, and American Express. Learn more about the corporate projects here.

To foster social entrepreneurship among our students, the School has also partnered with Project Futurus, a social enterprise committed to creating an age-positive and supportive environment for the elderly through product and service innovation. Five self-motivated undergraduate students have been admitted to the “SBMT2100 Community Services Project” to develop a community plan and raise the local public awareness of elderly health and wellbeing issues, particularly for seniors and patients suffering from dysphagia. Working closely with members of Project Futurus, the plan also aims to promote the importance of providing dysphagia patients with soft meals in a safe and dignified manner. Find out more about the community service projects here.

Additionally, between September and October, the Business Cohort Community (BCC) and the Business School UG Programs Office have organized the “BCC Blessing Garden” event at the Lee Shau Kee Business Building. During the event period, students could hang their hand-written wishes on the ground floor of the building to celebrate the new academic year. What’s more, our Cohort Leaders prepared custom-made face masks and metal bookmark gift sets with BCC’s slogan “We Bridge! We Care! We Create!” to provide support and positivity for our students.

BCC is formed by a group of undergraduate business students who are passionate about creating a platform for students to learn more about themselves, explore new interests, contribute to the community, and maintain a balanced life. Follow BCC on Instagram @hkustcohort for the latest updates.
