Two of our undergraduate students have achieved outstanding results at the recent Hong Kong Securities and Investment (HKSI) Institute Scholarship Programme 2021. Second-year student Joyce TANG (Global Business) received the Champion and Team Awards. The Team Award was shared with another student from the University of Hong Kong. And third-year student Tommy YUK (Dual Degree program in Technology and Management) received the Finalist Award.
Launched in 2004, the HKSI Institute Scholarship Program provides university students with learning and networking opportunities for successful careers in the financial industry. During the 2021 edition, participating students submitted a 1,000-word essay on "How the COVID-19 has changed the world?". Eight finalists were selected to work on a final research project in groups of two to compete for attractive cash prizes, HKSI Institute eCredits for examinations, and free annual memberships at the Institute.
"The program was an enlightening and rewarding experience. With the team research project, I have gained valuable insights into the opportunities and challenges that the financial services industry faces in the pandemic,” reflected Joyce. “I’m also immensely grateful to have a senior financial professional guiding and supporting me as a mentor throughout the program. It has been a memorable experience!"
"The program has equipped me with first-hand exposure to the industry which I can never acquire from lectures. On top of that, I have made new connections that have helped me build a solid foundation for my career. The program was a remarkable journey," added Tommy.
Congratulations to Joyce and Tommy. We are very proud of you!
