After an MOU signed in June between HKUST, the China Banking Association, Shenzhen University and the China Construction Bank University to co-develop the first FinTech qualification in China, our School has been actively involved in designing the curriculum for this joint initiative.

With an overwhelming response, a first batch of over 300 candidates have been shortlisted for the program. A class launch ceremony was held in Shenzhen on September 28, officiated by Mr PAN Guangwei, Secretary of the China Banking Association; Mr XU Chen, Vice President of Shenzhen University, Mr XUE Shengli, Executive President of CCB University; and Prof Sabrina LIN, Vice-President for Institutional of Advancement of HKUST. It is a great honor for HKUST to participate in this meaningful collaboration, through which our faculty can make closer connections with both academia and the banking industry in Mainland China.

Taught by industry experts including our faculty, the ten full-day training program will be held once a week at Shenzhen University. With all training completed in three months, the participants will sit for an examination. Eligible candidates will receive a nationally recognized FinTech Specialist certificate in China.
