The MSc Investment Management (IM)/Financial Analysis (FA) Programs welcomed over 180 full-time and part-time students in their recent intakes. With a welcome lunch on August 31, Prof Peter MACKAY, Academic Director of the Programs, announced exciting news - that the two MSc Programs will be merged, becoming a new MSc in Finance Program starting with the 2020 intake.

This marks an important milestone for the two well-established Programs. The newly integrated MSc in Finance Program will allow students to have optional concentrations in asset management, risk management, FinTech, corporate finance, and security analysis.
The MSc IM and MSc FA Programs (on a part-time basis) were launched respectively in 1996 and 2002. The full-time MSc IM was introduced in 2014. These two Programs have trained more than 1,000 professional talents and senior executives for the financial industry.
To have greater clarity when communicating with employers, and to meet the criteria in participating in some major global rankings, the streamlined MSc in Finance Program will continue to uphold the strengths of our Finance Department – to deliver first-rate finance education and contribute to the financial developments in Hong Kong and Asia Pacific.
