The Advisory Council of the HKUST Business School consists of 30 prominent local and overseas business leaders. Its annual meeting is an important occasion where all members are invited to our campus to offer advice on the School’s future developments.

This year’s annual meeting was held on October 3. Following the remarks by President of HKUST Prof SHYY Wei, the Council Chairman Dr Hans Michael JEBSEN extended his warm welcome to two new members - Mrs Kathryn SHIH and Mr Adriel CHAN. Mrs Shih was the President of UBS Wealth Management in Asia Pacific before her retirement; and Mr Chan is the Executive Director of Hang Lung Properties, as well as a Kellogg-HKUST EMBA alumnus.

The meeting once again has proven to be productive with valuable recommendations for the School to build on its areas of excellence, including how the HKUST Hong Kong campus can create synergetic impact with the new addition of the new campus in Guangzhou.

Before the meeting, three guest and faculty speakers presented on “Transformation of Work: How to Thrive through Technology Disruption”. Ms Cally CHAN, General Manager of Microsoft (HK & Macau); Mr Ivan WONG, Public Sector Lead (HK & Macau) of LinkedIn; and Prof HUI Kai Lung, Associate Dean (Research) of our School talked about their first-hand experience on this topic, and sparked an interactive dialogue on talent development in the new digital age.
