Professor Jiatao Li, Senior Associate Dean, recently received both local and international recognition for his academic excellence.

In March he was named Lee Quo Wei Professor of Business at the third inauguration of HKUST's named professorships. Such appointments are made possible by the generosity of donors and help to both recognise and sustain the research work of the recipients.

Professor Li has also been elected a Fellow of the Academy of International Business (AIB) by a select group of his peers, for his outstanding contributions to the field.

His is an expert on international business strategy with a particular focus on Asia and he has had 87 publications in leading journals. He joined the AIB in 1990 and since then has served in many dimensions, including incoming Editor of responsibility for research on strategy and policy in emerging economies, and as Co-Chair of the Junior Faculty Consortium at AIB's 2016 meeting.

Professor Li joined the School in 1997 and is also Chair Professor and Head of the Department of Management.
