A team of undergraduate students from the HKUST Business School has named the Champion of the SCMP/IFPHK Financial Planner Awards 2015 (University Student Category).
In addition to the practitioner category, the competition co-organized by the South China Morning Post (SCMP) and the Institute of Financial Planners of Hong Kong (IFPHK) includes the university student category that honors outstanding students who show sound financial knowledge and potential about financial planning.

The HKUST team is formed by four undergraduate students: LI Cheuk Hei Jean (Year 3, Global Business), MAK Ka Wing Dexter (Year 3, Quantitative Finance), TSANG Ki Yip Sam (Year 4, Quantitative Finance) and YU Chun Wai Steven (Year 4, Accounting and Finance). They impressed the panel of judges in the final round of the competition on September 19, 2015, with their thorough analysis, well thought-out recommendations and slick presentation skills. The team leader Sam attributes their success to the collective efforts and dynamics of the team as well as the constructive feedback from their advisor Lynn PI, Adjunct Associate Professor of the Finance Department.
