A team of undergraduate students from the HKUST Business School has named the champion of the SCMP/IFPHK Financial Planner Awards 2014 (University Student Category).

In addition to the practitioner category, the competition co-organized by the South China Morning Post (SCMP) and the Institute of Financial Planners of Hong Kong (IFPHK) includes the university student category that honors outstanding students who show sound financial knowledge and potential about financial planning.

The HKUST team is formed by four third-year undergraduate students: CHENG Lok Sang Sandy (Global Business), CHOW Ho Ming Henry (Quantity Finance), LAM Wing Tung Joyce (Quantity Finance) and LEE Kwai Yin Billy (Quantity Finance). They impressed the panel of judges in the final round of the competition on 6 September 2014, with their thorough analysis, well thought-out recommendations and slick presentation skills. The team leader Henry attributes their success to the collective efforts and dynamics of the team as well as the constructive feedback from their advisor Lynn PI, Adjunct Associate Professor of the Finance Department.
