Awarded by: Dean's Faculty Service Award
Professor Peter MacKay, Associate Head of Finance, was named the first winner of the Dean's Faculty Service Award. The award, newly launched this year by the Business School, aims to recognize faculty members for their exemplary service contributions to HKUST, profession or the community at large.
Professor MacKay, joined the Business School in 2005, has exhibited strong commitment for the common good of the department and the School. This is exemplified by his willingness to represent the department and the School to liaise with different units for the new business school building project. Acting Dean Professor Kalok Chan thanked Professor MacKay for his exceptional dedication and contributions to the School at a presentation ceremony with the presence of Professor Wei Shyy, the Executive Vice-President and Provost of HKUST.

Professor MacKay involved tremendous personal hours and efforts for the new building which houses the entire Business School. When the new building project was planned in 2008, he started actively participating in forums and meetings related to the project. He attended over 100 meetings over the past seven years for the project.
The nomination process started in March. Each department in the Business School was invited for one faculty member for the award. The list of nominees was accessed by the Acting Dean and department heads based on their records and commitment to services.
